Take Note! Music Instruction

You have reached the page for Take Note! Music Instruction. I am Paula Durbin-Westby; I am an organist, choir director, and music educator. I teach in the Central Virginia area, and am based in Louisa County. I teach at my home (piano, voice, and very beginning guitar and recorder), Yanceyville Christian Church (organ), and can teach at your home or other preferred location. In between lessons, I offer consulting by phone or online for my students.

I teach piano, ranging from beginner to intermediate.
I teach organ, ranging from beginner to moderately advanced.
I teach voice to beginners of any age.

I also teach people with special needs and disabilities. Music lessons should be accessible to all. I am not a music therapist. I teach music lessons, which may have some therapeutic value, because music in and of itself can do amazing things!

Click on the Contact Page to get in touch with me. Check out my other pages for information about locations, instruments, and my educational background and experience.

Organ lessons do not always have to be preceded by piano lessons. Imagine yourself playing two (or more) keyboards and pedals at the same time! Lessons available for beginners up through intermediate level organists.

Improvisation. Holding a tenth in the right hand and playing another song in the left. Exploration and creativity are part of music learning.
